your own .com
Most of the people who intend to have a website of their own feel that creating a website is a daunting task, one would feel that its as easy as sipping a coke!
Though writing a simple html code is not a highly skilled job and just needs few searches in Google, not many of us would be interested in all the techy stuff. Many people would love to have a website and would not be interested in either shelling out money or would shy away finding the people who do it.
There are umpteen sites offering free websites along with hosting. Hubpages is just one of them! Blogger and Wordpress are leading though. The difference is that, one need to have some knowledge again for configuring Wordpress or Blogger to the domain.
Yola offers not just a sub domain i.e (yourname.yola.com) but yourname.com hosted on Yola for free and without much design knowledge! If you are interested in having advanced features, you can pay and get more features.
Weebly makes creating websites a child's play. One would never feel that creating website would be as easy as this. Add as many menus or sub menus add your own image as background or use one from the library. One would love to design and redesign their site using Weebly. As we change our dress, we can change the face of our website on http://www.weebly.com/ on a daily or hourly basis! This also offers hosting and creating for free but to serve you, they will feed on ads on your page. If you feel that its an intrusion, you can as well pay a meager amount per month and have a free site or have your own adsense or other ads!
Webs is another site which offers free hosting for creating a website. They offer personal or small business sites and its pretty simple for any one to use the service.
Wix is one step ahead and allows us to use Flash images so easily on our site and one would feel really proud of their site after building it using Wix! Your creativity is the heights and one can mix and match the photos or colors or whatever they feel like in Wix. Wix also offers e-commerce so easily. If you want to sell your paintings online, start designing a website on Wix and start selling in less than 30 minutes and if you want to make it your creative best, you hardly need a few more minutes or few hours! There are ready made wonderful templates and you can simply edit them and have it as your website.
So start creating yourdomain.com and have your address online NOW!

Thanks for this great info!
I have blogs both at Blogger and WordPress. I find Blogger easy to use but I am just lost in WordPress. Those other sites you mentioned sound great to explore.
Vote up and useful!
It is so interesting and useful information of how to create one own website. I'm not good at IT but I wish to have one own website for my business.
Great info...keep up the good work!
I used weebly website builder for two years. though I shifted to wordpress later but I had a good experience with it. I have not used Yola yet but heard a lot about it. You have listed new website building platforms here. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this priceless info. You give me so much for personal development! Good luck on hubpages!
Thanks for all the info! My wordpress blog intimidates me. It's just not as easy as hubpages.I will persist and check out some of the others you mentioned.
I also am not a techie. I would like to know how readership is generated on these sites? I imagine I might create a webpage and then have no readers! Also, why is Wordpress difficult? How much knowledge must I have to create a website there? I suppose simply asking this question puts me in the ignorant category, lol!
Thank you so much for the information. I will follow your responses on this hub, to further educate myself!
Thanks Seeker!
Great hub with excellent information - especially for non-technos like myself. Many thanks for sharing.
As I said, these are for people who know nothing about HTML... If you are good at programming stuff, one can go for wordpress or blogger
Nice, I've used weekly before and I really liked it, it's only problem was that it didn't allow some HTML editing.
